BOWLS

Approx 14 cms in diameter this bowl would be suitable for ceremonial tea. Whether or not it would meet with the approval of a tea-master is open to question. I prefer not to make tea-bowls that are so extravagant that they are a reflection of the maker, rather than being an anonymous bowl for use.

This bowl is rather quiet. It is approx 12 cms in diameter. It was fired with both gas and charcoal.

Back

Made in 2009, this chawan, or tea-bowl, is approx 13 mms in diameter. It is fired to stoneware in a gas kiln under 'reducing' conditions.

This bowl is similar to a previous one but it shows the carbon effects of the charcoal used as a secondary fuel. Approx 12 mms. Stoneware. Made in 2009
